Valentin Thill

Valentin was born in Rouen on October 13th, 1993, he grew up in Toulon in the south of France. Passionate since a young age by the musical and the Opera, he began singing in a music school in Sanary-sur-Mer at the age of 14. He won the gold disc competition in August 2011. Parallel to his studies in Product Design, he began taking opera lessons at the Toulon Opera with baritone Frédéric Jean in 2013. As soon as he obtained his BTS, he decided to entirely devote himself to music, and in October 2014, he entered the course of Lyric Chant at the Darius Milhaud Conservatory in Aix-en-Provence as tenor in the class of Patricia Schnell. He was elected Laureate of the international competition of Lied and melody with Gordes in 2016, chaired by Raymond Duffaut.

In May 2017, he played the main role of the "Ixibab" Opera, an original creation, at the “Jeu de Paume” theater in Aix en Provence. Then, in October 2017, he joined the cycle specialized lyric singing (pre-professional) of the conservatory. In January 2018, he was elected, at the age of 24, winner of the Prix Dussurget (Young Lyrical Hope), and will participate in the musical show "Musiques en Fêtes" at the Chorégies d'Orange, on June 20, 2018 live on France 3. On the 30th of June 2018, he received the Dussurget Prize "young hope" from the hands of José Van Dam in Aix-en-Provence. Following one of his Masterclass in Aix-en-Provence, José Van Dam invited him to return to residency at La Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Waterloo, Belgium, in order to complete his lyric training.
